Whatcom Falls in Bellingham
Stunning Whatcom Falls is located in the 241-acre Whatcom Falls Park in Bellingham WA.
There are two entrances to Whatcom Falls Park. The closest access to the falls is from the parking lot at the end of Silverbeach Road, off Lakeway Drive. A fish hatchery, picnic shelter and playground is also visible at this entrance (call the Parks and Recreation Department at 360 778 7000 to book the picnic shelter).
Whatcom Falls is just a short stroll from the parking lot, and visitors can enjoy great views from a historic stone bridge overlooking the falls. The bridge links to the "Lower Gorge Trail" along Whatcom Creek, popular with joggers and mountain bikers. The trail winds through lush forest, providing a number of great vantage points along the creek. At one point, the creek plunges 30-feet down a narrow cavern to a swimming hole (note there are no lifeguards on duty at any of the swimming holes).
