Owen Beach - at Point Defiance
Tacoma Parks is home to the spectacular Owen Beach. Owen Beach is an hour's drive south of Seattle, located at Point Defiance in WA.
Owen Beach is one of Seattle's best swimming beaches, and offers spectacular views of Mount Rainier and Vashon Island. There are plenty of picnic tables, and a nice lawned area behind the beach. The Bath Kiosk also sells refreshments. This is one of Tacoma Parks finest destinations.
The secluded north end of Owen Beach is a true gem. Lush forest meets the water in a thin stretch of sand strewn with weathered logs. It is a truly enchanting and romantic place, but be extremely cautious of the changing tides.

Owen beach has it all: it is a great place to swim, play on the beach or just relax and take in views of Mount Rainier. It is also located in beautiful Point Defiance park, a great destination in its own right, with nice gardens and walks.
