Olympic Game Farm Sequim
The Olympic Game Farm is a unique wildlife park in the Olympic Peninsula near Sequim, featuring a 45-minute self-drive tour. Take the Bainbridge Island ferry from Seattle, then drive 1.5 hours northeast to the Olympic Game Farm. Always check opening times.
Collaboration with Walt Disney Studios
The Olympic Game Farm was first established by animal lovers Lloyd and Catherine Beebe during the 1950’s. They subsequently spent 28 years in collaboration with Walt Disney Studios, supplying animals for films such as "White Wilderness" and the "Grizzly Adams" television series. The park is now run by their grandson.
See elk, bison, zebras, kodiak bears & black bears
During the self drive tour, visitors experience the thrill of close encounters with elk, bison and zebras wandering the park freely. Many of these animals brush up against cars in search of food. Tourists are actively encouraged to feed the animals with loaves of bread available for purchase at the entrance. The line of cars often grinds to a halt when an animal blocks the road.
A remarkable feature of the park is the free interaction between different species of animals. The park is teeming with wildlife; including rabbits, geese, bison, deer, and elk. There are also countless Indonesian blue peacocks wandering the grounds with magnificent full fanning tails.
Yet the true highlight of a visit to the Olympic Game Farm, is driving past the kodiak bears and black bears. A short wire fence is the only thing separating the road from the bear enclosure, offering visitors some of the best glimpses of bears available anywhere in the world. The large number of bears in this enclosed section is also impressive, and each new corner of the road seems to bring another bear.
The Olympic Game Farm tour is an incredible experience. The self driving tour enables visitors to get up close and amongst wildlife in a way that traditional zoos do not allow.
