Lopez Island - San Juans

Lopez Island is the flattest and most agricultural of all the San Juan Islands, and is five miles wide by twelve miles long.  The San Juan Islands are located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, enjoying 250 days of sunshine a year.   This sunny weather is perfect for kayaking, yacht charters, and whale watching tours.

Visit Spencer Spit State Park with a saltwater lagoon enclosed by a sand spit, and great crabbing, clamming and hiking trails, or Odlin Park just 1-mile from the Lopez Island Ferry Landing.  A key feature of Odlin Park is the lovely sandy beach, and there is also a boat and kayaking launch, picnic area, fire rings, and firewood available for purchase.  For a sweet treat, stop by the "Just Heavenly Fudge Factory", carrying twenty different flavors of fudge and Lopez Island Creamery Gourmet Ice Cream.   

Lopez Island Ferry

After driving 1.5 hours north to Anacortes from Seattle, board the Anacortes to Lopez Island Ferry.  Wait times can vary based on demand, particularly during summer months when Friday and Sunday afternoons get very busy.
