Kubota Garden - Seattle Gardens
The Kubota Garden is located 15-minutes south of Seattle, in the Rainier Beach Neighborhood. Fujitaro Kubota emigrated from Japan in 1907, purchased the land in 1923, and built the garden on 5-acres of land in the 1930’s.
The garden is very easy to explore and has well marked walking trails. The trails meander past spring-fed ponds, mini-waterfalls, forests, open lawns, overlooks and creeks with stepping stones. One of the nicest features of the garden is the traditional red bridges.
Some key points of interest include the Japanese Garden, Heart Bridge, Overlook, Fera Fera Forest, Tom Kubota Stroll Garden, and Kubota Terrace.
The Kubota Garden is free to visit, and dogs are permitted if on a leash.
If you have more time, visit the Museum of Flight at nearby Boeing Field.
