Alki is a Seattle Beach, just 7-miles from the city center.  Alki has a nice sandy beach, with spectacular vistas of the Seattle skyline best viewed at sunset. Although Alki Beach is only a short distance from the city center, it has an authentic beach town feel.  A few hours spent strolling along the beach and enjoying the local cafes and restaurants will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Alki Restaurants

Alki restaurants offer a range of outdoor dining options during summer, and some favorites include Dukes Chowder House, Siam Pura, and Cactus Alki. The Celtic Swell also has a great atmosphere and is a nice place for a drink at Alki.  Salty's Restaurant is another dining option to consider, especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion.  It’s located on Harbor Ave SW, before you reach Alki Beach.

Top things to do at Alki

1. Visit the waterfront:  Bike or walk along the waterfront path at Alki Avenue SW.
2. Rent a bike or kayak:  Bike and kayak rentals are available along Alki Avenue SW (see table below).
3. Celebrate a special occasion at Salty's Restaurant: Enjoy stunning views of the Seattle skyline and Puget Sound, from famous Salty's restaurant.
4. Tour the Alki Lighthouse: Alki Lighthouse is open for tours on weekends, from June to August, 1:30 to 4pm. The Alki Lighthouse was built in 1913, and is located at Alki Point at the entrance to Elliot Bay. Drive to the end of Alki Avenue SW to the Coast Guard Station.  Call 206 841 3519 for more information. 
5. Take a water taxi to Alki:  Take a water taxi from Pier 50 on the Seattle Waterfront, to Seacrest Park in West Seattle near Alki Beach.  Check schedules.
6. Stroll through Lincoln Park: Visit Lincoln Park, just 10 minutes south of Alki Beach.  This is a truly beautiful area with some great walking trails.
