Cape Blanco
Cape Blanco State Park is a 35-minute drive south of Bandon, down Highway 101, located in the most westernmost point of Oregon. Key attractions include the Cape Blanco Lighthouse and Hughes House.
Things to do at Cape Blanco
- Cape Blanco Lighthouse: Cape Blanco has the oldest lighthouse on the Oregon Coast, commissioned in 1870, and is open from April to October. Call 541 332 0248 to book a tour (closed Mondays). A small fee is required to tour the lighthouse.
- Hughes House: Don’t forget to visit the nearby Historic Hughes House built in 1879 by Irish immigrants Patrick and Jane Hughes. This house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Free tours are available from April through October. Please call ahead to check schedule; 541 332 0248 (closed Mondays).
- Hiking at Cape Blanco State Park: There are 8-miles of hiking trails, and 7 miles of horse trails at Cape Blanco State Park.
Camping and Lodging at Cape Blanco
Visitors can stay at the group camping area or horse camp at Cape Blanco State Park. The township of Bandon is just 30 minutes up the road, and has plenty of vacation rentals and lodging options.
