Cannon Beach
Cannon Beach is a popular beach destination in Oregon, attracting both family groups and couples seeking a perfect weekend away.
Cannon Beach has a lovely township, and visitors can browse upscale galleries and gift shops along Hemlock Street. Visitors can also enjoy the dramatic scenery on the main beach, including spectacular off-shore coastal stacks. There are a number of different activities to choose from at Cannon Beach, such as kite flying, surfing lessons, bike rentals, and guided horse rides on the beach. Cannon Beach is also flanked by two popular State Parks; Ecola State Park and Oswald West State Park.

Ecola State Park
Ecola State Park is just north of the township, and provides sweeping views of the famous coastal stacks at Cannon Beach. This State Park has easy walking paths along an open grassed section, leading to a number of viewpoints. On a clear day you will catch sight of the Tillamook Lighthouse. The lighthouse was commissioned in 1881 and is located one-mile off-shore on a rocky island.
Oswald West State Park
Drive a few minutes south of Cannon Beach to the popular Oswald West State Park. Hike through lush temperate rainforest to dramatic Smugglers Cove.

Stunning coastline essentially because of its rugged nature and unspoiled beauty. Broad sandy beach great for walking for discovering marine life in the rockpools. Wide choice of good restaurants.

Of all of my day trips from Seattle, this is my favorite. Enjoy the beautiful beach or stroll through the beautiful town. We stayed at the Inn at Cannon Beach, which I can't recommend highly enough. If you love art this is the place for you, with endless galleries and shops to indulge every artistic fancy.
